CWAN MANDATE
The good God has established the Christian
Writers Association of Nigeria as a weapon
1) To spread the knowledge of God across the earth as
the water covers the sea.
2) Of healing and deliverance to bring divine solution to
the numerous life problems tormenting mankind.
3) Of salvation to evangelize the country.
4) Of reformation to bring positive and God glorifying
changes into the country.
And to fulfill the above stated purposes of God we
are mandated by Him to carry out the following programs
of action.
1. MOBILIZATION OF CHRISTIAN WRITERS
The Christian Writers Association of Nigeria shall continue
to mobilize the Christian Writers (books, tracts, poems,
songs, drama etc), editors, publishers, printers, graphic
artists, book-sellers etc. towards saturating Nigerian
(North, South, East and West) with Gospel Literature
materials at a level unprecedented in the history of
Nigeria.
2. RECEIVING THE DIVINE ANOINTING FOR
EFFECTIVE CHRISTIAN WRITING FROM GOD
Every CWAN member must qualify himself or herself
before God to be an effective writer who will be able to
impact positively on the lives of the readers.
MASSIVE PRODUCTION OF CHRISTIAN
LITERATURES
To us in the CWAN, it is not sufficient for us to be able to
write alone, we have to go further to make it a matter of
priority to produce/publish Christian Literatures at all cost
- making them available for the use of the Nigerian
masses.
4. TRAINING POTENTIAL CHRISTIAN WRITERS
It is our responsibility to train potential Christian Writers
on the principles of effective Christian Writing. With
adequate knowledge of the technical processes of
effective Christian Writing. Christian ministers who have
burdens, messages, visions, lights, teachings, and
revelations to share with the children of God will be able to
put these down in writing for wider field of communication
and ministration.
That is why SHALOM WRITERS' COLLEGE is running a
comprehensive Diploma Course in Practical Christian
Writing. This is an opportunity to be trained as a writer.
5. ESTABLISHMENT OF CWAN CHAPTER IN
EVERY PART OF NIGERIA
As a matter of urgency, we are committed to the
establishment of CWAN chapters in every part of Nigeria
including every campus of the tertiary institutions of
Nigeria. Each chapter will be mandated to execute the
vision of CWAN in the locality
6. ESTABLISHMENT OF CHRISTIAN
BOOKSHOPS IN EVERY
LOCALITY IN NIGERIA
To bring Christian Literatures within the reach of the
reading masses, well-stocked Christian bookshops will be
opened in every locality in Nigeria. Individuals and
chapters within CWAN will be: encouraged to open
Christian bookshops in their locality. CWAN will assists in
the area of stocking these bookshops.
7. PROMOTION OF BOOK READING HABIT
CWAN will go all the way to promote book reading habit
among the masses (young and old). We shall mount
book reading campaign in schools, churches and
fellowships. We will establish readers club in every
locality. We will not stop until we see people develop good
attitude towards reading.

8. ESTABLISHMENT OF CHRISTIAN
LIBRARIES
It is our belief that life for a literate man or woman
without books is meaningless. And to bring about
a total transformation of Nigeria, there is the need
to establish Christian Libraries in every look and
corner of Nigeria.
And to us in CWAN a Christian book is not
supposed to be lying idle on a shelf, but rather it
should be given wings (through the service of
mobile librarians) moving from person to person
impacting the life of God to the readers.
9. PROMOTION AND ADVERTISEMENT
OF CHRISTIAN BOOKS
It has rightly being observed that many good
Christian books have been written and published
which remain relatively unknown. The fact is that
there is no adequate source of information and
publicity for these good books. As a result of this
lack of information, much hardship is being
suffered by both the authors and the book readers.
On the part of the authors and publishers, the
sales are very low and discouraging. And on the
part of the potential book readers, they are denied
the blessing of such books. CWAN shall device
different methods to tackle this problem effectively.
10. RAISING THE PRODUCTION
STANDARD OF CHRISTIAN PUBLICATION
CWAN will continue to encourage the members to
improve the production standard of our books in
the area of content and packaging to ensure the
acceptability of the reading masses.
11. EFFECTIVE MARKETING STRATEGIES
We are trusting God and working towards an
effective marketing strategies of Christian books in
Nigeria that will lead to speedy and effective
marketing of our works.
12. CHRISTIAN LITERATURE EXPORTING
AGENCY
By the Grace of God CWAN will be exporting the
publications of the members to the neighboring
African countries and other countries of the world.
13. MASSIVE PRODUCTION OF GOSPEL
TRACTS
It is only the massive production and circulation of
Gospel tracts that will be able to meet the current
needs of the local churches that will be used for
the evangelism of our land. Tracts will be
translated into the major languages of Nigeria. It is
one of the challenging responsibilities of CWAN.
14. REPRODUCTION OF FOREIGN
CHRISTIAN BOOKS IN NIGERIA LOCAL
LANGUAGES
There are many foreign books that have impacted
our lives positively in the past which are written in
English. We will secure permission to translate
such books into any of the Nigerian languages for
production and circulation in Nigeria.
15. ORGANISING CWAN NATIONAL
CONFERENCE
The Christian Writers Association of Nigeria
(CWAN) organizes a yearly conference which is a
large forum for Christian Writers from different
parts of Nigeria to share ideas that focus on the
fulfillment of the vision and mandate of the
Association. The convention will offer keynote
address, workshops, training sessions, etc.
